There are all sorts of specialized applications on the Internet, which give you the possibility of doing something with your pictures. Sothink Photo Album Maker can be used to organize countless images in an interactive photo album, with neat transition effects, background themes and soundtracks. The entire operation is straightforward and easy, so it should not take more than one or two minutes to create a photo album.

Sothink Photo Album Maker is freeware and it does not take long to download its setup file and install its core components. It works on Windows XP, Vista and Win 7 and it has low hardware requirements. When the installation process is complete, you can launch the software right away, without installing any prerequisite tools.

An album can be created in four simple steps. The application also guides you all the way, just like a wizard. You can navigate with Next and Back buttons, but you can also jump to a specific step, by clicking its corresponding navigation tab. First, you need to add images to your project, which takes only a few seconds. The software allows you to browse through local folders on its user interface, just like on a standard explorer window. When you locate the pictures you need, you can add them to your album, by clicking and dragging them to the lower region of the interface, where you can arrange them in a specific order.

During the second stage of the process, you can make a few basic adjustments on individual images, like changing their brightness and contrast level, cropping, rotating or mirroring them or removing red-eye effects. You can also add transition effects. The available effects can be found in the lower area of the interface and you just need to drag and drop an effect between two images. When you reach the third step, you will find a series of album themes, listed on the right side of the interface. You can preview each theme with the program's embedded player, select a default soundtrack or choose a different one, by loading an audio file from your local folders.

Finally, you can choose between different output methods. The software can export your album in SWF and HTML format, but it can also generate an EXE file. Alternatively, you can generate a screensaver or share your album via email.
